Amy Hersh, flutist, is an active freelancer in the New York area, performing regularly in the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, the St. George’s Chorale Society, and with chamber ensembles such as the Virtuosi Wind Quintet and the Cara quartet. She has played in pit orchestras on Broadway, including Les Miserables and Annie.

Ms. Hersh was a founding member of the “Venus Trio”, and played in the Mexico City Philharmonic, and the Filarmonica del Bajio. The New York Times has written that Amy Hersh “…plays the flute with directness and an ear for subtlety.” She was a winner of the New York Flute Club and the Artists International competitions. She received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, and attended the Centre International de Formation Musicale in Nice, France. Ms. Hersh currently teaches at the Hackley school and at her private teaching studio in Westchester.
