Two-week Festival expands across Lower Mahattan, from Washington Square Park to Tompkins Square Park. September 10 to September 25, 2022

New York, NY – August 29, 2022 – The Village Trip Festival is back! Please join us in 2022. We’re pleased to present a full schedule of music, culture, and the arts events, celebrating creative achievement and spirited activism in the vibrant, history-laden neighborhoods of downtown New York City – including the West Village, East Village and Greenwich Village.

“It’s really good news that The Village Trip is back, bigger than ever, and going all the way to the East Village,” commented Mark Levine, Manhattan Borough President. “There’s so much amazing, eclectic culture in this community, which block-for-block has more artistic history than almost any other place in America. It’s just wonderful, and I cannot wait to attend the festival.”

Festival programming features jazz, rock and classical music performances, neighborhood history walks, topical talks and panel discussions exploring critical issues, from human rights and women’s political leadership to artistic expression and freedom of speech.

“We want to bring the city alive – from West to East, and back again – with a rich slate of happenings that represent all that’s made downtown Manhattan a magnet for creativity and activism for more than a century and a half,” said Liz Thomson and Cliff Pearson, Village Trip Joint Artistic Directors.
