Dubbed the “Leading Lady of Crossover” by Classical Singer magazine, Amy Justman has built a career spanning musical theater, classical music, and beyond. Highlights include her sixth Broadway company, covering and performing for both Renée Fleming and Jessie Mueller in the revival of Carousel; originating the role of Adrienne Weill in the world premiere of Double Helix at Bay Street Theater, and singing at Carnegie Hall as the soloist for Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo.

Amy has also been a voice teacher and coach for over 25 years, specializing in both classical and contemporary commercial techniques. She is currently an adjunct private voice instructor for Marymount Manhattan College and was previously a voice instructor for Yale University’s Shen Curriculum for Musical Theatre. She has been an artist in residence for Bard College’s Musical Theater Performance Workshop, and her master classes include Mannes Conservatory, SUNY New Paltz, the Manhattan School of Music’s Precollege Division, and the New York Choral Consortium. She has been a judge for NATS’ National Music Theatre Competition and the Kurt Weill Foundation’s Lotte Lenya Competition, of which she is a former first prize-winner.

A native of Port Jefferson, New York, Amy received her MM from Manhattan School of Music and her BA from Yale University. She lives in New York City with her husband, writer Dave Itzkoff, and their son, Max.
