Robert Ellsberg is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Orbis Books, where he has worked for 39 years. In the 1970s, he worked with Dorothy Day during the last five years of her life and served as managing editor of the Catholic Worker newspaper. He received a degree in theology from Harvard Divinity School. He has edited six volumes of Day’s writings, including The Duty of Delight (her diaries), All the Way to Heaven (her letters), and Dorothy Day: Spiritual Writings. He has written many award-winning books on saints, including All Saints: Daily Reflections on Saints, Prophets, and Witnesses for Our Time, and Blessed Among Us. Among other recent books is his correspondence with Sister Wendy Beckett, the hermit and art critic: Dearest Sister Wendy: A Surprising Story of Faith and Friendship. He lives in Sleepy Hollow, NYS.
