Amy Burton and John Musto are professional and life partners who, separately and together, pursue diverse musical careers. John is an acclaimed pianist and composer whose works include several with links to the Village, among them Later the Same Evening, a one-act opera inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper. His many awards include two Emmys. Amy, whose voice the New York Times has called, “luminous” and “lustrous,” is a versatile soprano who has performed with major opera companies worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera and the New York City Opera, as well as in recitals and in cabaret settings. In addition to their individual careers, Musto and Burton collaborate on residencies and master classes, and have become popular duo on the cabaret circuit. A champion of many contemporary composers, Amy has performed many of her husband’s song cycles.
