Lucki Islam is a 20 year old artist raised in The Bronx, of New York City. Lucki is dedicated to using her creative expression to ignite self and social transformation.

As a poet her words are a form of conversation and dialogue with her community, and the world. As a documentary photographer/film maker, Lucki captures the fleeting moments of, vulnerability, resilience and becoming. And as a theatre maker (Playwright, Actor, and Director) Lucki is interested in telling stories of the complex existence of grief and love.

Lucki’s artistic endeavors are not limited to creative expression alone as she believes her art is a catalyst for healing and social justice. Art is a weapon of choice, a tool for dismantling barriers, and a symbol of hope. Lucki is deeply committed to the practice of healing, and through her art she offers solace, inspiration, and through each poem, each photograph, and project, she invites viewers and readers to embark on their own transformative journeys.
