Created in 2009, the Bowers-Fader Duo performs both classical and contemporary repertoire. Their ongoing mission is to promote new American art songs for mezzo and guitar, through commissions, performances, and recordings. To date, they have presented over forty world premieres of works written for them. The Duo has appeared at Bar Harbor Music Festival, New York Classical Guitar Society, the University of Indianapolis, Queens New Music Festival, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music, Classical Guitar Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and Lehigh University. Bowers Fader have been guest artists with Cygnus Ensemble, Taconic Music, the Festival of New American Music, Poetica Musica, Composers Concordance, and Musical Chairs Ensemble. Their debut album, Between Us All (2019) is collection of songs written for them by Paul Salerni, David Claman, Scott Wheeler, and Tim Mukherjee. Their second recording, People, Places, and Pets, featuring works by Salerni, was released in fall 2021. They can also be heard on Der Weg ins Freie, an album of music written by William Kentner Anderson.
