Call for Entries: Framing the Village Exhibition 2024
Call for Entries for a group exhibition of paintings, drawings, and photography on the theme of Identity. How has the Village/ East Village formed you, shaped your identity? Lower Manhattan Cultural Council To Fund The Village Trip Festival
The Village Trip has been awarded an $8,000 grant. The LMCC’s mission is to “serve, connect, and make space for artists and communities.” Its support demonstrates the importance of The Village Trip’s efforts to strengthen Lower Manhattan’s role as a vital creative hub.

David Del Tredici, pioneering composer with “a truly original gift”, dies aged 86
A long-time resident of the West Village and a key figure in its musical life, David Del Tredici was celebrated with Village Trip concerts in 2021 and 2022 and was present at this year’s festival for the historic performance of Satie’s Vexations. View videos.

A 17-day celebration of the cultural legacy of Greenwich Village and the East Village, two of New York’s most celebrated neighborhoods. From September 8 through September 24, more than sixty events will energize Downtown Manhattan in a diverse family-friendly program that reflects and honors the free-spirited creativity that for more than a century has made the neighborhood a truly global village and the birthplace of so many shape-shifting movements in both the arts and civil society.
