Based out of New York City, cellist Eric Eaton is an avid chamber musician and teaching artist. Most recently he has enjoyed performing internationally with Lincoln Center Stage. He has also performed with many orchestras in the New York area including Pegasus the orchestra, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Westchester Philharmonic, The New York Chamber players, and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. As a recording artist Eric has worked with many different groups and genres. Recording highlights include: Shakira, Stefon Harris and Dave Liebman. He also enjoys musical theater. Highlights include: a national tour of Camelot, Jonathan Tunick Tribute, Ari Axelrod’s A Celebration of Jewish Broadway, and Spitfire Grill at Northern Stage.
As a teaching artist Eric works with multiple organizations in NY such as Midori & Friends and the Living Arts Collaborative working in school districts across the state.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri Eric Eaton began playing cello at the age of ten. As a student Eric attended the Interlochen Summer Camp, Encore School for Strings and the Eastern Music Festival. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music with David Geber. Eric has also had the pleasure of studying with cellists such as Bonnie Hampton, Eleonore Schoenfeld, Orlando Cole, Margo Tatgenhorst Drakos, Martin Storey and Lawrence Figg.
