Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon<\/strong> was born in Guadalajara, M\u00e9xico, in 1962. Literature inspires many of his compositions, such as Gypsum<\/em>, on texts by Deidre Huckabay, the extended song cycle Songtree, on poetry by Ra\u00fal Aceves and William Shakespeare, the miniature opera Ni\u00f1oPolilla<\/em>, on a libretto by Juan Trigos senior, and the scenic cantata Comala<\/em>, based on the novel Pedro P\u00e1ramo<\/em> by the great Mexican author Juan Rulfo, which was selected as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2011. Ricardo\u2019s compositional voice is shaped through steady collaborations with artists such as Leah Brzyski.
