Pittsburgh native Howard Wall joined the horn section of the New York Philharmonic in 1994, following his 18 years as a member of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Mr. Wall has appeared as soloist with the New York Philharmonic in Schumann\u2019s\u00a0Konzertst\u00fcck\u00a0<\/i>for Four Horns in New York, and appears regularly in the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series at Merkin Hall, and at the New York Chamber Music Festival. He also performs with the Delphinium Trio, the Amram Ensemble, and in a duo with his wife, violinist Elmira Darvarova. He can be heard on the CD Take 9, <\/i>featuring the New York Philharmonic horn section and the American Horn Quartet, as well as on former Principal Horn Philip Myers\u2019s\u00a0New York Legends\u00a0<\/i>CD. Howard Wall recorded Poulenc\u2019s\u00a0El\u00e9gie\u00a0<\/i>for Horn and Piano with world-renowned French pianist Pascal Rog\u00e9.<\/p>\n
Howard Wall has also recorded David Amram\u2019s Blues and Variations for Monk in Solo Horn, <\/i>and performed its European Premiere in Paris. His most recent CD is\u00a0Phillip Ramey: Music for French Horn<\/i>. He made his Carnegie Hall debut at age 19 performing Schumann\u2019s Konzertst\u00fcck\u00a0<\/i>for Four Horns; he most recently performed the same work again at Carnegie Hall in 2012.
