Greenwich Village\u2014fabled bohemia of avant-garde poets, painters, and assorted rebels–was also a vibrant creative crossroads for children\u2019s literature\u2019s greats. On this walking tour, we\u2019ll visit the sites where Where the Wild Things Are<\/em>, The Very Hungry Caterpiller<\/em>, and–yes–Make Way for Ducklings<\/em> were all created; wander the park H.A. Rey sketched from his front window; pass the school where Goodnight Moon<\/em> author Margaret Wise Brown launched her career and the nearby Wonderland cottage that became her writing studio; and inspect the architectural \u201cghost\u201d where modern American children\u2019s book publishing was born.<\/p>\n
