On Sunday, September 10, The Village Trip will celebrate Ukrainian culture with a full program of events throughout the East Village honoring Ukraine’s rich history and culture whilst raising money for the Ukraine Children’s Action Project.
Ukraine Children's Action Project
UCAP was founded by pediatrician Irwin Redlener and children’s advocate Karen Redlener, less than three months after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. Its principal mission is to help address widespread psychological trauma and educational disruption experienced by the millions of children who were able to escape the extreme violence in eastern and southern Ukraine. In addition to addressing these major challenges, UCAP has continued to respond to a host of humanitarian needs, including purchasing back-up generators and winter clothes for children. The Redleners travel frequently to Ukraine and Poland to meet personally with every program that UCAP funds.
